NAEYC’s 12 Principles June 29, 2009

As a future early childhood teacher I thought it would be interesting to see what is considered the basic principles of development. The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) has compiled a list of  12 Principles of Child Development:  http://www.edletter.org/insights/12principles.shtml . This list touches on principles that have been applied in the school I have worked in for eleven years, so I thought it was put together quite nicely.

This is a video that demonstrates how to make a microphone man or woman. This can be done in a preschool classroom or at home with your little ones. Plus, I like that the demonstrating teacher tells the viewers where she gets her materials and why she chose some of them. Her tips are really helpful! This looks like it could be fun!
